Making Unique Rug Pads

With the addition of a rug pad, that friction and wear and tear is slowed down, thus extending the life of your rug. Obviously this is like rug pads. When it comes down to it, the rug pad that is used is just as important as what you see on the surface. But, ask yourself this, if you purchased a new car, would you skip the oil changes? Of course not, as everyone knows, changing your oil prolongs the life of your engine and helps you get the most out of your car.

Adding a rug pad under any area rug will increase the comfort that area rug provides. Another reason your rug can wear out faster on the bottom is because hand-knotted rugs have an open weave. But has little, or nothing, to do with area rug pads usually. After all, once your rug is in place there is no possible way to determine with 100 percent accuracy as to if the right pad was used.

Rug pads protect the carpet underneath. Speaking of dirt, a rug pad can also help keep your rug clean. This is similar to Oriental rug pads frequently. With the proper pad you can be rest assured that the rug is going to lay as it should.

This is an extra bonus for those of us that are especially sensitive to these types of bacteria and it’s nice to know that the rug pads in our home prevent bacteria even if we aren’t especially sensitive. Over time, friction can rub through the finish of your floor. As you can imagine, when you are walking on a rug with a pad underneath it will be much more comfortable.

Rug pads reduce the number of falls and slips. Once you’ve selected the type most suitable for your floor, you have to measure your rug carefully. The pad that you use under your rug is very important. The benefits of rug pads far exceed the inexpensive price of acquiring them as they are very affordable.
